Major game launches have long been paired with limited-edition console hardware, and GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest opportunities for this kind of collaboration in years. While Sony and Microsoft haven’t confirmed anything officially, the pattern from past Rockstar releases makes some kind of branded hardware almost inevitable.
Previous GTA launches have come with themed controllers, custom console skins, and in some regions, fully branded console bundles featuring artwork tied to the game’s setting. Given that GTA 6 is set in the neon-drenched world of Leonida, fans expect any special edition hardware to lean heavily into that Miami-inspired color palette: pinks, purples, and teals reminiscent of classic Vice City branding.
There’s also a business incentive at play. Console bundles tend to drive hardware sales during a game’s launch window, which benefits both platform holders and Take-Two. With GTA 6 releasing during the holiday season, a bundle timed to Black Friday and December shopping would make strategic sense for PlayStation and Xbox alike.
Collectors are already speculating about what such bundles might include: exclusive controller designs, branded storage drives, or even physical collectibles bundled with digital hardware purchases. Nothing is confirmed, but if history is any guide, some form of special edition hardware tied to GTA 6 is likely to appear as the release date approaches.
